The next meeting will be held on Friday, February 18, at 7:30 pm. Vice President

Charlie Becker will be hosting the meeting at his house. Charlie and Mark Biseli

would like to showcase their RV-8A project, which is progressing right along.

Charlie’s address is 1200 Van Buren Ave, Altoona, PA 16602. If traveling via I-99,

take the 17^th Street exit, then make a right turn onto Valley View Blvd. Once on Valley

View, make a right onto 12^th Street and Van Buren Ave is the 4^th street on your right.

Many thanks to President Paul Nuss for showing us his Wittman Tailwind project at

January’s meeting. In addition, he has provided us with some recent photos involving

the wings. He notes that he was fearful of the woodwork, but that it is not nearly as

difficult as he first thought. The 50-50 mix T-88 epoxy glue makes the gluing far easier

than the old resorcinol glues, etc.

Per the urging of President Paul Nuss, we are all encouraged to invite a friend that

might be interested in aviation to upcoming meetings. This is a great way to make

the chapter grow and more importantly, get people enthused about this addiction that

we all have in aviation. The meeting at Charlie’s would be a great way to get a

youngster excited about building their own airplane!
